Cody + Taylor Wedding | Broughton Fire Hall, Pittsburgh, PA
Cody and Taylor's wintertime wedding took place in Pittsburgh, PA on the Saturday before Valentine's Day. This winter wedding featured colors of deep burgundy, brown, and grey, accompanied by twinkly lights and green pine. After over a year of planning, and months of altering those plans, Cody and Taylor were pronounced husband and wife in front of their family and friends at Lebanon Presbyterian Church.
We loved a lot of things about this day, but here are a few of my favorite moments that made this day different from all the other weddings we've shot. First, IT WAS IN THE SNOW! While the shorter hours of sunlight were challenging at times, there is something truly magical about a snowy wedding. Plus, Taylor's winter accessories were bomb!
Second, their tributes to their loved ones. From the pins they wore of their grandparents, to their memorial table at the reception, and the playing of special songs, Taylor and Cody remembered their loved ones in many beautiful ways. Before the ceremony, Cody's Aunt Jen presented Taylor with a rose, a gesture that her father (Cody's late grandfather) made to the women before all their family weddings.
Finally, Cody and Taylor have very strong family roots. All family members were a part of the day in some way, shape, or form. Not only that, but they showed each guest their appreciation by thanking them for coming at the end of their ceremony. My heart swelled seeing the love shared in this growing family. Enjoy the photos from their big day!
I LOVE big wedding parties! These ladies made the best hype crowd!
Taylor's mother, Fran shared a special card with her daughter moments before the ceremony.
Taylor got to meet her niece for the first time, the day before her wedding! SUCH a cutie!!
Time for the ceremony!
Here comes the bride!
Time head to the Broughton Firehall for the reception!
The families did an amazing job decorating the firehall! We especially loved Taylor and Cody's gift favors!
Taylor's maid of honor Brittany ended her speech with the whole wedding party, singing a crowd favorite, The Golden Girl's Theme song!
Something we love about this couple, is their ability to lift each other up. The joy they bring each other is one thing, but their support and honest yearn to make each other happy is something else, and it's really beautiful. During their engagement session, Taylor was excited about her Pinterest-inspired, blanket-scarf photos, Cody gladly went with it! Cody (knowing the pose would be a little unnatural) happily agreed to cuddle in the scarf, because he knew how happy it would make Taylor.
Thank you to this amazing team of wedding vendors who made our job so much more enjoyable, and kept the day running smoothly! We really appreciate you all!
