Sal + Abbie Feature Film | Rolling Rails Lodge
It was December 28, the weekend after Christmas, when Sal and Abbie tied the knot in State College, PA. In the days leading up to this final 2019 wedding, I was busy getting all of my video gear ready after a long week of family photo sessions, and Evan was making his way back to State College from a quick trip to Michigan. The holiday season is a busy one for most, but I can't imagine how busy (AND EXCITING) it must have been for the Swoboda and Canale families leading up to Abbie and Sal's big day.
These are still frames from the video, but to see Abbie and Sal's wedding photos, check out Jana Scott's beautiful work! We always love getting to work with her!
Rolling Rails Lodge was THE venue for Abbie and Sal's wintertime wedding. Knowing this couple and their love for adventure, exploration, and the outdoors, a venue nestled in a mountain side, surrounded by fields and trees, was perfect for them! Learn more about how Abbie and Sal met on their Highlight Film blog post!
The sun shined beautifully though the trees and into the many windows of the log building. Candles and dark green garland accompanied the burgundy and pink roses decorating the reception hall, while red and white poinsettias filled the alter and Christmas lights draped over the pine trees at Our Lady of Victory Church. All the planning that Abbie and Sal had done had paid off, and set them up for one amazing wedding day.
From the beginning of the day, it was clear to see that these two were parts of each other's families long before the wedding day. While getting ready for Abbie and her father, Doug's, first look, Doug smiled to himself as he heard Sal's niece refer to Abbie as "Auntie Abbie". When it was time for the ceremony, Sal's sisters accompanied Abbie at the altar, and Abbie's brother stood with Sal. I'm no parent, but what a great feeling it must be to see your son/daughter so well loved by their growing family!
This day was full of wonderful moments, and we were so honored to have been there to capture it. Some of our favorite moments included Abbie and her father's first look, and the very thoughtful and creative toasts. If you look in the background of their first look, you will notice Abbie's mom in the back corner!
Abbie and Sal, thank you for giving us the chance to celebrate with you two. You made every step of this process so enjoyable for us. From the sweetest exchanges in getting to know you, to inspiring us when hearing about your travels. You two make an amazing team, and we feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend this day with you and your families.
Thank you also to our amazing team of vendors who made our job so much more enjoyable, and kept the day running smoothly! We really appreciate you all!
