Ben + Andrea Highlight | General Potter Farm

Right before our move to Bridgeville, we had the opportunity to spend a Saturday celebrating Ben and Andrea's State College, PA wedding. The weather, as it usually is in State College, was unpredictable, calling for storms, and then clear skies, and then storms again... Upon walking into The General Potter Farm, I noticed a pile of white-handled, clear umbrellas, Andrea was prepared for anything! Not wanting to chance a downpour, the ceremony was had inside, but we were lucky enough to take advantage of the sun while it lasted!

Ben and Andrea began dating in college. While they attended Penn State, the two of them worked at a downtown nightclub called Levels. Both worked front of house, Ben as a bouncer and Andrea, the VIP waitress. After Andrea got to know Ben and got past this bouncer's "bad boy" facade, they began dating.

After moving away from State College together, opportunity knocked for them both. Ben began work and Graduate school in Boston, MA, and Andrea would continue to earn her PhD in Athens, GA. After 4 years of blurry facetimes, dropped calls and long commutes to one another, their long distance relationship came to an end.

As Ben put it in his vows to Andrea,

"Earlier this month, we were united in what was effectively the end of our long distance relationship. I couldn't tell you how much my heart melted with joy and comfort knowing that I was finally, finally home. Baby, I've been away, but now I'm back and I'm here to stay."

The first time we met Ben and Andrea in person was the day before their wedding. Samantha had gotten to Skype with them and exchange a pile of emails, but while Andrea was in Georgia and Ben was in Massachusetts, meeting in person didn't seem likely.

If you follow SMF on Instagram, you have heard of Breakfast Thursday, a weekly segment that includes someone surprising (boarder-line scaring) another person with breakfast on Thursday! Samantha began this segment in October, awhile after booking Ben and Andrea's wedding. Ever since then, Andrea became a loyal Breakfast Thursday-er, messaging Samantha about how much she loved BT!

Unfortunately, Samantha and I were traveling home from Alaska on the Thursday before their wedding... So OF COURSE we made an exception, and with Ben's help, we preformed a rare Breakfast Friday just for Andrea!

It was so cool to see how Breakfast Thursday was able to bring us closer to Ben and Andrea before their big day! Although their questionnaires told us that they were a "playful" couple, nothing gave us more of an opportunity to see that than by having Ben help us Breakfast Thursday his soon-to-be wife!

We are so thankful that we had the opportunity to get to know these two, and that we got to celebrate this joyful reunion with them. Enjoy their preview below!
